AAL Shipping was once again the proud sponsor of the Seahorse Journalism Awards, which took place on Monday December 2 in London, celebrating excellence in transport and logistics media.
Organised by the Seahorse Freight Association, the event had more than 150 attendees from the media as well as the public relations and marketing professionals who work in the sector. There were 11 judged awards for journalists to enter and two nominated awards that recognise individuals who have gone above and beyond in the industry.
A huge congratulations to all the winners, which you can find here, and a big thank you to the Seahorse Committee for organising yet another fantastic event.
AAL Shipping has been involved in the Seahorse Freight Association and championing the work of the supply chain’s supporting media since 2015. Reflecting on the nine-year relationship and the end of another challenging year for the international shipping sector, John Pittalis, Head of Marketing & Communications, said: “We have once again arrived at the end of another eventful year for the global shipping industry – a colourful year to say the least that’s provided our colleagues in the press with so much to report on and follow, but also one that has served-up multiple challenges for the entire shipping supply chain.
“The disruption to vital shipping arteries is well documented and the industry has simultaneously stepped up its sanctions, governance and sustainability policies, with several milestone EU emissions tarrifs coming into force. Transparency and communication are vital during times of uncertainty and industry change – and our media partners have helped exponentially in this respect.
“Their efforts to not only share service updates and messaging but also raise awareness of the global challenges across the supply chain proved invaluable. It is a co-dependent relationship that we respect and welcome, and relish the opportunity of the Seahorse Journalism Awards to thank the media for their hard work throughout the year.”
