ONGOING PROTECTED INDUSTRIAL ACTION (PIA) AFFECTING AUSTRALIAN PORT OPERATIONS
Following our last notification on 24.12.24, we would inform you that Protected Industrial Action (PIA) by members of the Construction, Forestry and Maritime Employees Union (CFMEU) is set to continue in January at the following Australian Ports.
• Brisbane: 9 to 15 January 2025
• Port Kembla: until 17 January 2025
• Melbourne: 13 to 27 January 2025
• Fremantle: until 12 January 2025
These strike actions will severely limit stevedore working hours, resulting in operational delays and port congestion.
Our sincere hope is that current negotiations between the parties involved in this matter result in a swift and amicable resolution. In the meantime, AAL is doing its utmost to mitigate the impact of any PIA on its customer cargo operations and is exploring all avenues in this respect.
